General provisions, Consumer Code and scope of the warranty2026-07-21T06:58:32+00:00

These General Warranty Terms and Conditions govern the conventional warranties offered by Ideallux to its Customers. They:

  • may be supplemented, where applicable, by Special Conventional Warranty Conditions set out in the product data sheet or in any written agreements expressly entered into with the Customer;
  • do not apply where the Customer qualifies as a Consumer. In such cases, the mandatory provisions of the applicable Consumer Code, together with the Special Conventional Warranty Conditions contained in the Product data sheet, shall apply.

The warranty period for an Ideallux product is specified in the product data sheet and in the Warranty Summary. For information on the warranty period applicable to a specific product or on any particular limitations, please refer to the product data sheet, the Quick Start Guide or the Warranty Summary. Unless otherwise specified, the product is covered by a two-year warranty. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase, as evidenced by the invoice date. The operating limitations set out in Article 6 below shall apply.

Warranty coverage, exclusions and invalidity2026-07-21T07:01:23+00:00

The warranty covers manufacturing defects, whether electronic or structural in nature. At its sole discretion, and within the limits of this Warranty, Ideallux reserves the right to repair or replace any defective or non-conforming product.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Components considered consumables (e.g. batteries, etc.), which remain the sole responsibility of the end user.
  • Damage resulting from improper use of the product, incorrect use and/or use that does not comply with its intended purpose or with the instructions provided, as well as routine maintenance (in particular, cleaning the product from dust and external agents at least every six months, unless otherwise specified in the user manual).
  • Damage resulting from any modification or tampering carried out by the customer, or from the use of the product with support structures or third-party goods or products.
  • Damage resulting from accidents, negligence, impacts, electrostatic discharge, power surges, exposure to weather conditions or, for outdoor products, exposure to exceptional or catastrophic weather events, demagnetisation, temperatures or humidity outside the values specified in the product specifications, improper installation, use, maintenance or modifications, or failures caused by other equipment, as well as any intervention or tampering carried out by personnel not authorised by Ideallux.
  • Labour required to remove products from their installation site and to reinstall the repaired or replacement product.
  • Transport costs incurred in shipping the product to Ideallux.
  • Any economic loss directly or indirectly related to the defect. This includes, by way of example only, shipping costs, assembly costs, installation costs, plant downtime, loss of profit or any other costs incurred by the purchaser.
  • Failures (and any resulting damage) falling within the product’s declared normal permissible defect tolerance, as specified in the technical data sheet.

Additional exclusions for LED products

In addition to the above, the warranty does not cover:

  • Products with a number of non-functioning LED chips that falls within the technical specifications of the product and does not affect its functionality (see product data sheet).

  • If the product is modified, tampered with or altered in any way by the Customer or by third parties.
  • Failure to carry out routine maintenance (including cleaning).

For products marked “5 Years Warranty” or with an equivalent indication, the duration of this conventional warranty is five (5) years, without prejudice to all the other provisions set out herein. In accordance with the product lifetime specified in the Product Data Sheet, this warranty is calculated and therefore limited on the basis of typical use, defined as 14 hours per day, 365 days per year, for 5 years. Any atypical use, meaning use exceeding the typical operating conditions specified above, shall result in the immediate loss of this conventional warranty. From the end of the sixth month, the limitations set out in Section 4 of these Warranty Terms and Conditions shall apply.
